BURNLEY Football Club opened the Turf Moor gates to supporters to watch an open training session on Saturday, following the postponement of their home game with Queens Park Rangers.
Fans took their seats to watch manager Steve Cotterill, assistant boss Dave Kevan and first team coach Steve Davis put the Clarets through their paces with passing drills, five-a-side matches and sprint sessions.
The decision to open the training session to the public was taken in light of the cancellation of the QPR match, following the death of Rangers' teenage striker Ray Jones in a motor accident in the early hours of Saturday.
"We thought that there would be a few people at a loose end when the game was off so we put a training session on the pitch," said Cotterill.
"Today was just for us to enjoy a decent training session on a good surface."
Burnley's club flag flew at half mast above the Bob Lord Stand as a mark of respect for England youth international Jones.
A collection was also held and the proceeds will be sent to QPR for the club to donate to a charity of their choice.
