Mick Rosser scored the only goal of the game in a tight encounter at the Holt House Stadium last night.
The big centre half latched on to a flick-on midway through the second half to net at the back post.
And that proved to be enough to grab all three points in what turned out to be a scrappy affair, in which neither goalkeeper was really troubled.
Colne manager Nigel Coates said: "It was always going to be tough and it looked as though one goal would settle it."
