JOHN Coleman admits Accrington Stanley are working hard to curb their ill-discipline after being fined by the FA.
The Reds were hit with a £5,000 fine for their poor disciplinary record last term and were imposed with a further £5,000 fine, which is suspended depending on whether their card-count shows a marked improvement' this season.
In their 2006/07 League Two campaign, Stanley were top of the tree in three unwanted disciplinary lists.
Coleman's side were handed the most red cards (10) in the division, most yellow cards (109) and were guilty of conceding the most penalties (12).
But they have already shown a marked improvement this season, picking up just three bookings in their opening three league and cup games.
"We've got to improve and we know that," said Stanley manager Coleman.
"When we first got into the Conference, our disciplinary record wasn't good but it got better. We hope it will be the same in the Football League.
"But I believe we're heading in the right direction."
