BURNLEY made it four wins out of four to stay top of the JWL Founders Group in the Lancashire League’s Twenty20 Cup.
Asif Zakir led the run charge at Accrington with the professional scoring 51 with Qasim Shah (22) and Dan Pickup (20no) contributing in Burnley’s score of 136-6.
In reply, Accrington were restricted to 108-6 with captain Jacob Clark top scoring with 31.
Cup holders Clitheroe are third in the group after a seven wicket win at East Lancs where the hosts batted first and scored 96-7 with captain John Turner (36) the top scorer.
In reply, paid man Fawad Alam scored 49 and captain Jack Dewhurst added an unbeaten 20 as Clitheroe reached their target or the loss of three wickets.
Rishton remain second following an eight wicket win over Colne with Ali Hasham scoring an unbeaten 84.
Colne’s professional James Price scored a superb unbeaten 104 in a 165-4 total but it proved to be in vain as Rishton’s reply also included a fine 40 runs from pro Mansoor Amjad and 22 from opener Sajid Patel.
Darwen maintained their unbeaten start in the JWL Bitter Group as they beat second-placed Church by three wickets. Calvin Savage hit 86 and Jordan Clarke added 43 to take Darwen to a last over win.
In reply, Church captain Levi Wolfenden (72), professional Johnny Riekert (37) and Sam Holt (23) starred with the bat but could not help their side to victory.
Great Harwood picked up their first win in the competition against Nelson thanks to an unbeaten 67 from professional Ashen Silva.
Harwood posted 193-3, Russ Whalley (46), Paul Houldsworth (30no) and Allan Armer (28) all chipping in while Nelson were restricted to 139-5.
Adam Bracewell was among the runs again with the competition’s leading scorer hitting an unbeaten 107 as Enfield beat Lowerhouse.
Bracewell shared a 178 stand with professional Shash Pussegolla (74no) as Enfield scored 194-1.
In reply, Lowerhouse were restricted to 155-9 with Joe Hawke (33), Paddy Martin (30) and Ben Heap (26) the top scorers.
In the JWL MPA Group, Ramsbottom beat Rawtenstall by 40 runs to seal a fourth successive victory.
Bacup are second thanks after beating Norden - Ernest Kemm hitting an unbeaten 60 to seal victory.
Sean Hunsley’s 52 helped Haslingden beat Middleton.
In the JWL Manchester Craft Group, leaders Rochdale beat Milnrow, Todmorden lost to Walsden and Littleborough defeated Crompton.
