NICK Pope cleaned up at the annual Burnley Supporters Clubs awards evening at Turf Moor on Monday night.
It's been a season to remember for the 26-year-old, who hadn't played a minute in the league for the Clarets until September, when he came off the bench to replace the injured Tom Heaton in the win over Crystal Palace.
Pope proved himself to be a more than able deputy for Heaton and although the club captain is now back fit he has found his return to the first-team blocked thanks to the outstanding form of the former Charlton Athletic goalkeeper.
Since coming in for Heaton Pope has kept 12 Premier League clean sheets and his form earned him a call-up to the England squad for friendlies with Holland and Italy in March and he remains in contention for a place in Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad.
Pope was named player of the year by 11 of the 13 supporters clubs, with the London Clarets voting for Steven Defour and Colne Clarets choosing Iceland winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson.
Ashley Barnes' stunning overhead kick at West Brom won the overall goal of the season award, despite Central Clarets voting for the Jeff Hendrick's winner at Everton after a 24 pass move, a goal that won West Yorkshire Clarets' champagne moment.
There was an also award for Sean Dyche from the Melbourne Clarets, with the manager winning the magic moment award for providing too many to choose from during the campaign.
Accrington Clarets honoured James Tarkowski with a special award for winning his first England cap.
West Yorkshire Clarets handed the Roger Howarth Unsung Hero award to goalkeeping coach Billy Mercer for his work in the development of Heaton and Pope.
The special achievement award was won by former Clarets goalkeeper Colin McDonald, with the 87-year-old winning eight England caps and making 201 appearances for Burnley in the 1950s.
