AMARI’I Bell was always confident that Rovers would find the equaliser their pressure warranted in the 1-1 draw with Northampton Town.

But the 23-year-old was disappointed that they couldn’t find a winner in the 16 minutes after Danny Graham’s header had drawn them level.

Bell was brought on for his Rovers debut just 15 minutes in after Charlie Mulgrew was forced off with an ankle injury.
The skipper will undergo a scan today, with Bell expected to continue at left-back, with Derrick Williams in central defence, for tomorrow’s visit of Walsall.

“I was ready to get on and make my debut,” Bell told the club’s official website.”

“It wasn’t the result we wanted but we’ll take the point and move on.

“I felt we had a lot of the ball and created a lot of chances but we just weren’t in the right place at the right time.

“We’ll take the positives and move on to Tuesday. We sometimes have to keep our cool, not panic and know the chances will come our way. We are a good team that will create opportunities - it’s just about taking them.

“We knew we would score because of the players we have. Once we got the equaliser they were struggling and we should have won it really."

The full-back was named man of the match for his performance, having joined from Fleetwood Town earlier this month.

He almost had a chance to win it late on when played in by Elliott Bennett, only to be crowded out when cutting inside.

And he added: “It would have been lovely to have got the winner.

“I came inside but couldn’t get the touch right, unfortunately. Hopefully I can get my first goal soon enough.

“It was a great opportunity for me to show what I’m all about. I hope I managed to get the fans off their seats and showed them what I can do.

“I like to be up there, getting involved and creating things. I can’t wait to show more."
