Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings in the 1-1 draw with Northampton Town.
David Raya 6
Was mainly a spectator throughout and given no chance with O’Toole’s header, the one effort on target the visitors managed.
Ryan Nyambe 6
Continued plugging away down the right hand side but ran in to trouble on a number of occasions.
Paul Downing 6
Few rushed clearances in defence but went close to a winner with a near-post header late on.
Charlie Mulgrew 6
Forced off injured after 15 minutes having landed awkwardly on his ankle.
Derrick Williams 7
Slotted in to central defence and showed enough to suggest he could offer a solution should Mulgrew face a spell on the sidelines.
Elliott Bennett 6
Never stopped trying to get on the ball and create but wasted a few good openings with some wayward efforts from distance.
Richie Smallwood 6
Played on the front foot and was among Rovers’ better performances in the first half before being sacrificed in the second.
Dominic Samuel 6
A peach of a cross was headed in by Graham but lacked composure in front of goal on a number of occasions.
Craig Conway 6
Saw two shots blocked and another flash just wide and had more of a goal threat than in recent games before being replaced.
Bradley Dack 6
A frustrated figure in the first-half and saw a shot saved in the second having slipped in to a deeper role.
Danny Graham 7
Scored his 10th of the season with a well-taken header. Unfortunate not to see several knockdowns create chances for his team-mates.
Subs
Amari’i Bell (for Mulgrew, 15) 7 (MAN OF THE MATCH)
His opportunity came sooner than expected but he gave Rovers a real outlet down their left-hand side and was unfortunate not to see one of several good crosses not create a goal. Carried the ball long distances and added some thrust in attack. Wasn’t tested defensively.
Adam Armstrong (for Smallwood, 58) 6
A few wild efforts at goal when cutting in from the left. Still waiting to be used in his more favoured central role.
Jack Payne (for Conway, 58) 6
Showed some neat touches and tried to probe in and around the Northampton area. A few good crosses from the wide areas.
Subs not used: Jayson Leutwiler, Paul Caddis, Lewis Travis, Joe Nuttall
Northampton: O'Donnell, Taylor, Hoskins (Powell, 67), Long, O'Toole, Crooks (Foley, 72), Facey, Poole, Grimes, Turnbull, Bunney (Ariyibi, 84)
