CHORLEY manager Gerry Luczka is hoping to land two new strikers as part of his summer rebuilding pro-gramme.

The Magpies chief has already snapped up former Blackburn Rovers defender Stuart Howson from Barrow, and midfielders Lee Shillito and James Holden from Mossley and Ashton United respectively.

Now Luczka wants to pep up his strike-force, and his search for more fire-power has been given greater focus by the news that last season's leading scorer, Adam Roscoe, will not be available this term because he is spending 12 months in Australia.

"I'm really pleased with the three signings I've been able to make up to now, but we are not finished there, I'm after another three or four players," said the Chorley boss, who also wants an experienced midfielder.

Aside from revamping the playing squad, things are also moving in the right direction behind the scenes at Victory Park, according to Luczka.

He said: "There's a real buzz here. We've spent money on improving the pitch so we should have a decent surface in time for the start of the season.

"We are also working on upgrading the floodlights, and I've been in touch with Manchester United because I read a story recently which said they were looking at giving away their old floodlights to a non-league club."

Chairman Ken Wright is also in talks with a company about becoming the club's main sponsor, and part of the £10,000 package would involve renaming the Magpies' Victory Park home.
