Matt Wilson has stepped down as Accrington Cricket Club captain in an effort to fully concentrate on his own game.
The top order batsman decided it was time for a fresh face at the helm after the pressure of skippering the Lancashire League strugglers, who have won only once in 11 outings, had begun to affect his own performances.
Experienced bowler David Ormerod replaces Wilson as skipper on a permanent basis, but Mike Horsfield will deputise until Ormerod recovers from the groin injury which has kept him sidelined since early May.
