ACCRINGTON Stanley are hoping the medical report of their mystery Scottish target will arrive in East Lancashire today.
Chairman Eric Whalley revealed the assessment of the defender, who played a number of games in the SPL last season, was due to arrive on Monday, but has been delayed.
He said: "Hopefully it will be here today so we can have a good look at it before making any decision."
Boss John Coleman is hoping to sign him up as well as another player as he builds up to the new League Two season.
Coleman is hoping to add a striker and a centre half to his squad after signing Paul Carden, striker John Miles and goalkeeper Kenny Arthur during the close season.
He said: "There's a lad coming down from Scotland and hopefully he will sign.
"And I'm making a bid for a Conference defender who I've tracked for a while and if I get those two in, I'm still hopefuly of getting Godwin Antwi back for another season.
"I'd like to bring another big striker in. Paul Mullin has done magnificently for us but you can't keep holding your breath that he doesn't get injured."
