JOHN Coleman believes new Accrington Stanley goal-getter Roscoe D'Sane will prove a big asset in his striking pack.
The 26-year-old forward - who was also being courted by a string of Conference clubs - joined the Reds on a 12-month deal after his contract at AFC Wimbledon expired.
D'Sane scored 21 goals last season for AFC Wimbledon after recovering from a bad knee injury which ended a previous spell at Aldershot.
But it was his prolific record for the Shots - where he fired 21 goals to steer the club into the 2004 Conference play-off final - that has most impressed Reds boss Coleman.
He said: "Roscoe played against us a couple of years ago for Aldershot. But he's been injured and was out of the game for a bit.
"He's proved himself since at AFC Wimbeldon and now he's looking to make a real go of it.
"If he carries on where he left off at Aldershot, I'm sure he'll be a good player for us.
"He doesn't have any Football League experience, but a lot of our players didn't have that before we came up and they learned quickly. Hopefully, he will do the same.
"I've been impressed whenever I've seen him."
D'Sane is joined in the Stanley striking department by last year's top scorer Paul Mullin, David Brown, Leighton McGivern and fellow summer recruit John Miles.
Coleman added: "He's nippy, got a good eye for goal and his movement around the box is very good."
AFC Wimbledon boss Terry Brown was disappointed to lose his top striker to Stanley.
Brown said: "It's a good move for him and I think he has got what he wanted because he is moving all the way up north.
"He is a very good player and we are very disappointed to lose a player of his calibre because he is a prolific established Conference level goalscorer."
