MARVIN Emnes is hoping he has done enough to convince Blackburn Rovers boss Owen Coyle to hand him his full debut for the club in today’s home clash with Rotherham United (3pm).
Emnes produced a lively substitute appearance in the 1-1 draw at QPR after signing on loan from Swansea City on the final day of the summer transfer window.

And, after being given more time to impress off the bench, he scored his first goal for Rovers in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to Leeds United.
With Anthony Stokes sidelined and Danny Graham struggling for full fitness, Emnes is expected to start this afternoon’s Millers match providing he shakes off a knock he sustained at Elland Road.
And the former Holland Under-21 international, who will remain with Rovers until January 15, said: “As soon as you get to a new club you have to set your standards, try and get your first goal ASAP, and from there try to kick on.
“The manager knows I want to start every game. It’s up the manager to make a decision if I’m going to start or not.
“Hopefully next game I will be starting and I get another goal or maybe two.”
Emnes’ maiden strike for Rovers was one to remember as he picked up a pass from Craig Conway before unleashing a 20-yard shot which flashed past Rob Green and into the Leeds net.
He said: “I knew I hit it nicely, from the minute I hit the ball I knew it was a goal, it felt good.
“I had a chance after that as well but the keeper made a good save.”
The goal brought Rovers level.
However, nine minutes later they conceded what proved to be the winner.
The loss means Rovers remain bottom and the only club in the Championship yet to win.
And Emnes said: “We need to win. Every game in this league is tough but if you win one or two games on the run you can get back up there.
“But if you lose two games on the run then you are down in the dumps.
“I think a club like Blackburn deserves to be up there.
“The guys have been working hard to get three points and hopefully in the next game we can get them because we need them.”
