North West Formula Ford Champion, Ian Parkington, moved back to the top of the table after scoring a brace of class victories at the newly-revised Anglesey Circuit.
After crashing out at the previous event at Oulton Park, the Barrowford company director needed to score points.
Racing in his Reynard FF in the Pre90 class, that was exactly what he did.
Qualifying on Saturday put him in eighth place on the grid for the first of the weekend's two races.
He converted that into a fifth place in the race, but more importantly, he was first in Class D and scored a maximum of those all-important championship points. "Tyres were a problem, the track was very abrasive and new tyres were quickly worn right down to the canvas, and in fact, we ended up using tyres from last year in the race, which did the job nicely," revealed Parkington.
"Sunday was raining and that suited me. I started fifth and managed to move up a couple of places, eventually finishing third overall, again first in class, and that now puts me back leading the championship."
He added: "The new circuit is fantastic. We used the coastal layout and it had fast straights and a tremendous down hill left and right section that was awesome."
Parkington receives backing from Hambling Construction of Accrington and Ball Park Engineering of Barrowford and his next outing will be at Oulton Park on June 30.
