BURNLEY have completed the signing of striker Rouwen Hennings from German side Karlsruher, subject to paperwork.
The 27-year-old German has signed a three-year deal at Turf Moor after the Clarets and the Bundesliga 2 side agreed a fee that is undisclosed by the clubs but thought to be in the region of £3million.
Although Hennings will now join up with his new team-mates ahead of tomorrow’s first home game of the season, against Birmingham City (12.30pm), he will have to wait for his debut until he receives international clearance.
The former Germany Under-21 international, who was the division’s top scorer last season with 18 goals in 29 games, said: “It’s nice to be here. I am very proud to be part of this club and I hope we have much success together.
“I think England, along with Germany, is the best place to play football and for me and my family, it is a great chance to get more experience.
“I have met the manager and he talked me through his plans. It was a good meeting and now I want to help the team with my skills and I want to win every game.”
