JOHN Holden failed to finish in the latest round of the World Sidecar Championship at Brands Hatch.
The Mellor Brook man came up short on raceday as he and partner Ashley Hawes fell out of contention on the penultimate lap of the race.
Ricky Stevens and Ryan Charlwood took the overall victory with Holden and Hawes, riding a LC Suzuki, one of eight pairs not to complete the race despite posting the third fastest lap time of the day.
The failure to finish will have come as a disappointment to the East Lancashire pair who had impressed on qualifying with a 1.31.998 time good enough to put them on the second row, just two seconds off pole position.
It was the third race in succession that Holden has failed to score points since he picked up seven at Oulton Park in early May.
He is currently bottom of the championship standings with Stevens and Charlwood leading the way.
Holden will look to bounce back at the next round of the series which takes place at Thruxton from July 31-August 2.
