BURNLEY will travel to Rawtenstall in the T20 Final on Friday after semi final successes writes MATTHEW JONES.

Burnley travelled to Dill Hall Lane in the last four and overcame Enfield by 18 runs.

The visitors won the toss and decided to bat.

Openers Vishal Tripathi and professional Chris Holt got Burnley off to a rapid start hitting 53 in the first five overs but in the sixth Lewis Wright made the breakthrough and bowled Holt for 22.

David Brown then added 21 with Tripathi before Brown (11) found the hands of home professional Graeme Van Buuren at long on to give Wright, who finished with figures of 2-16 off four overs, his second wicket.

Jonathan Clare (22) then took the score to 112 with Tripathi, until he was brilliantly caught by Adam Bracewell leaping back on the boundary.

Steve Brunt then joined Tripathi at the crease, the pair took Burnley to 150-3 in the 19th over.

Brunt then smashed Tiarnen Hamill (1-64) for 34 in the last over as Burnley finished on 184-3.

Man of the match Brunt finishing on 47 not out off just 18 balls while Tripathi finished unbeaten on 69.

In reply, Bracewell and Van Buuren began Enfield’s chase well as they put on 78 in the first eight overs, before Cole Hayman bowled key man Bracewell for 35. Van Buuren and Hamill then took the score to 97 when Hayman bowled the South African for 50.

That wicket sparked an Enfield collapse as they went from 97-2 to 133-7 with Burnley professional Holt taking (3-41) and Vishal Tripathi (1-5).

Wright (11) and Chris Bowness (14 not out) did provide some late order resistance adding 20 but it wasn’t enough as Enfield closed on 166-8.

In the other semi final, Rawtenstall beat Lowerhouse by 36 runs at Neville Gee Recruitment Ground.

The visitors won the toss and choose to bat, opener Chris Cook Martin top scored with 53, while other contributions came from sub professional Daniel Salpietro (32), Joe McCluskie (28) and Sam Kershaw (16 not out) as Rawtenstall posted 163-4 in 20 overs.

Left arm seamer Daniel Whittle then took (5-18) off four overs as Rawtenstall restricted Lowerhouse 127-9.

Jonny Whitehead top scored with 41 while Salpietro took 2-25.
