RAMSBOTTOM tasted Twenty20 defeat for the first time this term.

Chris Cook-Martin top-scored with 37 in Rawtenstall’s three-wicket win at Acre Bottom. Matt Kershaw made 25 not out to help the visitors reach their target of 142, after Rammy finished on 141-8 thanks largely to Brad Fielding (34) and Jon Fielding (25 not out).

Accrington earned their first win at the fifth attempt, beating Todmorden by 10 runs. Keiren Grimshaw hit an unbeaten 54, including seven fours, from 38 deliveries but his score was eclipsed by that of pro Ockert Erasmus with whom he shared a 109-run stand.

Erasmus hit 71 from 57 balls, including eight fours. Jimmy Hayhurst and Erasmus took two wickets apiece as Todmorden were held to 154-6.

Lowerhouse recorded a nine-wicket win over Nelson. The winners’ Jonny Whitehead smashed nine fours and three sixes in his unbeaten 69 from 40 balls. Paddy Martin took 4-23 and Pienaar 3-14 as Nelson were skittled for 118.

Burnley chalked up a three-wicket win at Haslingden. Bharat Tripathi starred with 5-22 as Haslingden posted 121-9. He then made 27 and Steve Brunt scored 39 as Burnley, who were 65-5, got home. Haslingden skipper Alex Coleman hit 44.

Church recorded a three-wicket win over Colne. Skipper Matt Walker (38) and pro Thomas Kaber (34) shared a second-wicket stand of 60 as Colne made 121-7.

Church pro Usman Tariq struck 43 and was backed up by three team-mates reaching double figures as the home side triumphed with 123-7.
