REGULARS at one of Burnley FC legend Brian Miller's favourite pubs are raising the cash for a statue of him.

Anthony Wiaczek, landlord of the Roggerham Gate Inn, on Todmorden Road, where Brian was a regular, is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for a bronze statue in honour of 'Mr Burnley.' He said: "I would like to start fundraising to get a bronze statue of Brian because this was something he would have wanted us to do.

"I am sure every fan would love to give l want something to the fund - if everyone gave a pound we could get £12,000."

Fans are invited to pay their respects outside Turf Moor as Brian Miller is taken on his final journey as part of his funeral on Tuesday.

And as the cortege passes by the ground at 10.15am, fans are invited to line the streets and pay respects.

His funeral will take place at 11am at St John's Church, Padiham.

He will then be buried at St John's Church, Worsthorne.

Brian, who won the league title with the Clarets in 1959-60, died last Saturday after a heart attack.

Directors of Burnley are to meet and discuss how to create their own lasting memorial to him.
