BURNLEY's four-game unbeaten run ended with a 1-0 defeat at relegation threatened Leeds United.
Matt Heath's 22nd minute header from a corner was enough to separate the two sides.
It was the only goal that Burnley, unchanged for the fourth successive game, had conceded in five outings.
Leeds enjoyed the bulk of the possession and chances in the first-half, and had defender Heath's goal to show for it when they went into the break.
The 6ft 4ins centre half rose high in a packed goalmouth to meet Alan Thompson's corner.
Heath almost added a second in similar circumstances but was denied by a brilliant save from Brian Jensen, who had also done well to tip over a Richard Cresswell header minutes earlier, while Radostin Kishishev had clipped the top of the crossbar.
Wayne Thomas had Burnley's best chance towards the end of the first half but was denied by goalkeeper Casper Ankergren.
Burnley were brighter in the second half but neither goalkeeper was overly tested as Leeds held on to their slender lead.
