BURNLEY'S long wait for a win continues after they were held to a goalless draw by rock bottom Luton Town.
Manager Steve Cotterill rang the changes, among them Graham Coughlan and Paul McVeigh both making their debuts after arriving on loan.
But it wasn't enough to stretch the Hatters' losing run to seven games and thereby prevent their own winless run extending to 19.
The Clarets started in vibrant mood in their first home game for a month and bossed the first half. But they failed to break the deadlock before half-time, despite chances for Coughlan, Ade Akinbiyi, Andy Gray, Steve Jones, McVeigh and Steven Caldwell.
Gray had arguably the best chance when he met McVeigh's cross with a close range header that Dean Brill did well to save.
Luton came out fighting in the second half and put more pressure on the Burnley back line with Dean Morgan and Steve Robinson getting into good areas.
Kyle Lafferty and James O'Connor came on for the final 22 minutes, and while Lafferty looked lively after returning from international duty with Northern Ireland, the Clarets still couldn't find a way through.
