WE have been used to being the focus of attention over the last 12 months, but tomorrow it will be for matters off the field.
The Football League hearing for accusations of fielding ineligible players is something that is being dealt with by our chairman and advisors. It's in their hands, and there isn't a lot I or the players can do apart from prepare for what is a big game at Walsall on Saturday.
The Saddlers might be riding high in League Two and gunning for automatic promotion, but on the back of two wins and two clean sheets, we'll go to the Bescot Stadium with plenty of confidence.
Last Saturday's win over Hereford United was a comprehensive one and just reward for a professional performance that carried on from the win over Torquay.
Walsall will be a tough game - they don't give much away - but if we can match the last two performances and hopefully get another clean sheet then we'll be okay.
Tomorrow's hearing is something that we'll endeavour to shield the players from. If we were to get deducted points then obviously that's going to impact on the mood ahead of our big game, but so far the impending case has only served to rally us all together.
Personally I will be very disappointed if they take any points off us. There have been cases where teams have been fined and AFC Wimbledon have had their points deduction reduced from 18 to just three this week.
I'm sure there are worst cases than ours that have never even been brought to light, so hopefully the punishment won't be too severe.
One case we haven't managed to win this week was our bid to get David Brown's red card over-turned, or at the very least have the punishment reduced from a three-match to a one-match ban.
It was a professional foul, but how the referee deemed it to be serious foul play is beyond belief.
It was a big shock for us and a shame for David.
On the plus side, we've got Phil Edwards back for Saturday, although Leam Richardson is now suspended after picking up 10 bookings and Jay Harris serves the last of his two-match ban.
We've got options, but we'll be reluctant to disrupt the defence too much because of how solid they've been in the last couple of games.
Whether it's just down to Godwin Antwi and goalkeeper David Martin I don't know, but they've certainly had a calming influence.
