MARKUS Olsson insists Blackburn Rovers’ focus is firmly on tomorrow’s Championship clash at Leeds United – and not on their mouthwatering FA Cup match with Liverpool.

Should Rovers win Wednesday’s quarter-final replay with Brendan Rodgers’ side they would seal a trip to Wembley for the first time in 20 years.

But Olsson says they will not even begin to think about the big Ewood Park encounter until they are on the bus back from Elland Road.

Rovers will make the trip across the Pennines attempting to bounce back from the back-to-back defeats before the international break that has them left 13 points behind the play-offs.

Left-back Olsson said: “The focus is definitely on the Leeds game and the manager has been on to us about that.

“We know it’s very important to finish as strongly as we possibly can in the league.

“There are seven games left and if we can do well in them all we will finish strongly.

“We finished strongly last season and started the season in the same way for a period of time.

“But the last two games we should have done better and got points.

“But we’ve been training well since we got back and hopefully we can take that into the games and have a good run.”

Leeds are on a good run of form having won three and drawn two of their last five matches.

However United have lost their last three meetings to Rovers, including November’s reverse clash, and you have to go back to April 2004 for the last time they beat their Roses rivals.

But Olsson said: “Leeds are in good form, playing quite well, and they played well when we beat them here.

“And that’s what we’ll be trying to do on Saturday, go over and get the three points.”

Olsson has happy memories of Elland Road as it was at the ground where he scored his first and only goal for Rovers in a 3-3 draw in September 2012.

The Sweden international, who has been challenged to add more goals to his game by Rovers boss Gary Bowyer, said: “It brings back good memories but it feels like a long time ago now and Saturday will be a different game with a lot of new players.

“I would like to score more goals, it’s something everyone wants to do, but as long as I’m setting-up goals, like I’ve been doing, and creating chances for the team I’ll be happy.

“We’ve got strikers who score a lot of goals and hopefully I can feed some good balls into them.”

Olsson, who has five assists to his name this season, believes Rovers will be better for the short break the players enjoyed after the disappointing 1-0 home loss to Brighton & Hove Albion.

He said: “It was a good couple of days off and I think the boys needed it as well because there were many games.

“But hopefully everyone is reloaded now and focused on finishing the season strongly.”

Meanwhile, more than 27,000 tickets have been sold for the Liverpool replay.

That means less than 800 tickets remain for Rovers supporters with a database booking history.

The club shops and ticket office call centre are closed today, on Sunday and on Monday.

But tomorrow the club shop at Ewood Park is open from 10am-4pm, the club shop in the town centre from 9am-5.30pm, and the call centre from 10am-2pm.

And Liverpool tickets can be purchased across the Easter weekend online at www.onerovers.co.uk.
