A HURRICANE hit Lithuania after 79 seconds at Wembley in the Euro 2016 qualifier last Friday night.
Harry Kane came on for Wayne Rooney and then scored after just one minute and 19 seconds of his England debut.
MORE TOP STORIES:
You can tell that the whole country has been lifted by the emergence of the young Tottenham Hotspur striker, who is having an incredible season.
He will arrive at Turf Moor on Sunday and I hope Sean Dyche has got a plan in place for him, as in his last game for Spurs Kane scored a hat-trick.
It will need to be a good one as we are in a precarious position at the moment and definitely need the points.
Talking of young strikers, Danny Ings added to his England Under-21s caps, coming on as a sub against the Czech Republic and then starting in the win over Germany.
That must have given him an added confidence boost for when he returns to the squad at Turf Moor. The same goes for Michael Keane who was also with Gareth Southgate’s side.
Let’s hope the goals start coming for Danny now as he is attracting a lot of interest from the big clubs in the Premier League and from abroad as well.
We have had Real Sociedad in Spain showing an interest in him and now Bundesliga teams Borussia Monchengladbach and Schalke are apparently keen on him.
With him being out of contract in the summer I do worry that all of this transfer talk will get in his head, which we don’t want to see.
But, let’s be fair, he has done a great job at this club and I will be the first to wish him good luck if he decides to leave. Big opportunities don’t come very often in your footballer career and I am sure Danny will know what to do as I know he has the love of the Clarets fans and he loves them.
It would be a difficult decision for him to make but if he wants to progress into the senior squad this is what he has to do.
With Tottenham on Sunday and Arsenal the week after we have two massive home games and we must get something from them. I have no doubts we can get a result. It’s going to be tough but we’ve played well recently and we need to carry on those good performances.
I think we would all have taken this position after the first 10 games of the season.
Meanwhile, during the international break I watched Scotland against Gibraltar.
Everyone was putting money on how many goals Scotland would score.
Nobody would have bet that Gibraltar would make it 1-1.
The goal was set up by a lawyer and scored by a policeman, but the Scots bailed themselves out.
