Tom Heaton 7
Nothing he could do about either goal and made one very good save at the end of the first half
Kieran Trippier 5
Usually reliable crossing and set-piece delivery was very wayward. His poorest performance for a while
Michael Duff 6
One weak back pass in the first half but otherwise was fairly solid again at the back despite threat of Long and Pelle
Jason Shackell 6
Not a great deal he could have done about the own goal, but had a tough aerial battle with Pelle at times
Ben Mee 6
Relatively solid throughout and defended well, although distribution was occasionally poor
George Boyd 7
Involved throughout, with a couple of half chances and penalty appeal, Superb pass to start a first half move
Scott Arfield 7
Showed plenty of energy in midfield, tracking back diligently and looking to use the ball when he drove Burnley forward
David Jones 6
Not at his best on Saturday, struggled to set the tempo for Burnley’s pressing from midfield and little influence on the game
Ashley Barnes 7
Not his favourite position but tracked Clyne diligently and twice helped create chances for Vokes from the left hand side
Sam Vokes 5
Will be disappointed he didn’t score at least one of his first half chances. Made life easy for Davis with both
Danny Ings 6
Rarely involved in the second half but looked a threat to the Saints defence in the opening 45 minutes
Substitutes Lukas Jutkiewicz for Vokes (73) Ross Wallace for Barnes (82) Marvin Sordell for Ings (88)
Subs not used Matt Gilks, Michael Keane, Steven Reid, Ross Wallace, Michael Kightly
