STEPHEN Ward will have to train today to be in contention for tomorrow’s trip to Southampton.

However, manager Sean Dyche was hopeful Ward would be able to join in with the rest of the squad today.
“Wardy’s missed a few days this week but we’re hopeful he will train (today) and he will be in contention,” Dyche said.
“It was just a niggle. It was nothing too major but he’s missed a few days.”
The Burnley boss added that Matt Taylor is just one more full development squad game away from being considered for a first team return following a long-term Achilles injury.
He said: “Matty’s come through 90 minutes but I still think he will need another one to be classed and active and part of the squad, just because of the length of injury.”
