MANUEL Pellegrini admitted that Manchester City were beaten by a ‘beautiful goal’ at Burnley – as he dismissed suggestions that his expensively assembled side should have won at Turf Moor.
George Boyd decided the outcome just after the hour mark as he drilled a half volley into the bottom corner from 20 yards.
It gave Burnley a shock victory over a side assembled for vast millions.
But Pellegrini said: “Football is not only money, it is an important thing but in the Premier League anyone can beat another team.
“If you are talking about money, I don’t understand your reasons.
“If you are talking about football reasons, maybe we could have created more chances.
“It was a normal performance, I don’t think we played very bad. We created three or four chances, Burnley had I think just one and scored a beautiful goal.
“But we need to create more chances, I don’t think we created the amount of chances we need to score goals.”
