TOM Cairney believes the feel-good factor is back at Blackburn Rovers as they attempt to stretch their winning Championship run to three matches.
The midfield playmaker admits Wednesday’s dramatic derby victory at home to Bolton Wanderers has put Rovers on ‘real high’ ahead of tomorrow’s trip to revitalised Charlton Athletic.

And Cairney, who was at his influential best in the 1-0 win over Bolton, reckons Gary Bowyer’s side’s thrilling performances in the FA Cup have been a factor in their improving league form.
Rovers will take their place in the Wembley semi-finals if they beat Liverpool in next month’s Ewood Park replay.
But they have also given themselves an outside chance of making the Championship play-offs after taking seven points from the last possible nine.
And Cairney said: “It feels good.
“Obviously getting the replay with Liverpool was a massive result for us and we seem to be getting a bit of momentum going.
“We’re creating chances and looking like we can win games so long may that continue.
“We’ve always done the same things and we’ve always worked hard, it’s just that the results are coming now.
“Maybe it’s the FA Cup that has given us a bit of a boost. Battering Premier League teams at our place gives you confidence and I can see us giving it a really good go in these last couple of months.”
Charlton are in superb form after winning five of their last six league matches. The Valley, however, is a happy hunting ground for Rovers.
They won last season’s corresponding fixture as well as January’s FA Cup third-round tie at the ground.
And Cairney, who is enjoying being back in his natural position in the centre of midfield, said: “The last two games we’ve played there have been brilliant.
“I like the pitch, it’s very nice, and it’s helped us get two wins, but we need another three points again on Saturday and I think we’ve got a good chance of getting them.”
Jordan Rhodes is set to start tomorrow after he netted the winner against Bolton – and after the club refused to contemplate sending him out on loan.
Cairney said: “It was just typical Rhodes.
“He just puts himself into those positions and, unlike some people, he’s not scared to miss.
“It didn’t surprise me that he got the winner and that’s why there is always going to be speculation about him and big-money moves.
“We deserved to get that last-minute winner and it’s put us on a real high going into Charlton.”
Rovers stand-in skipper Matt Kilgallon also paid tribute to Rhodes – and joked he’s going to start tracking his movements in order to get off the mark for the season himself.
Centre-back Kilgallon said: “I’ve just said to him I’m going to stand next to him at corners because it lands to him every time.
“I run around the box and it never comes to me so if you see me standing next to him at Charlton then you know you why.
“He’s a goalscorer.
“He just has a knack of knowing where it’s going to go, it comes to him and he puts it away.”
