BLACKBURN Harrier Shaun Livesey was just pipped to first place in the Stan Bradshaw Pendle Round on Sunday.
The Men’s 40 runner was 24 seconds behind overall winner Paul Crabtree in the 188-strong field.

The Wharfedale Harrier finished the iconic local race, which starts in Barley, in 1 hour 11 minutes 20seconds, with Livesey hot on his heels.
Rossendale Harrier Patrick Brennan took fifth place with a time of 1hr 14mins 33secs, while Men’s 50 runners Graham Morris, of Accrington Road Runners, and Michael Toms, of Blackburn Harriers, were almost neck and neck as they made their charge for the line.
Lynne Clough, of Chorley AC & Triathlon Club, was comfortably the first female home with a time of 1hr 24mins 1sec, finishing 38th overall.
Blackburn Harrier Sarah Toms was second female in 1hr 28mins 35secs, almost four minutes ahead of Keswick AC’s Sarah Massey.
Rossendale Harrier Ken Taylor was the first Men’s 60 runner to finish the 16.7km course, which is in its fifth year.
The race features a climb of 1,936ft and is named after a legendary figure in fell running history.
The Pendle Round climbs to the Pendle trig via Buttock Farm, following the ‘spine’ of Pendle, before dropping to Churn Clough Reservoir.
The route then visits Stainscomb - for many years the site of Stan’s hut, - from where it climbs over the hill back to Ogden Reservoir and Buttock, before a last dash across the fields back to Barley.
The event was organised by Clayton-le-Moors Harriers, for who Andrew McFarlane was the first representative to complete the circuit in 1hr 20mins 31secs, finishing 23rd overall.
Karin Goss was the only Clayton female in the field.
