THE top two in the East Lancashire Football Alliance fought it out in the Under-11 Cup semi-final, and Ladybridge marched through to the final.
This was too close to call but Ladybridge, who occupy top spot in the table, a couple of points in front of Barnoldswick Town, edged the tie 2-1 after a real thriller settled in the final minutes.
Darwen Colts also emerged triumphant, celebrating a 4-2 win at Great Harwood Rovers.
There was also plenty of league action too – and with Ladybridge and Barnoldswick locking horns in the cup – Langho Juniors Blue closed the gap on the leading pack.
One of the form sides now, Langho Blue proved too strong for Barrowford Celtic Orange, cruising to a comfortable 3-1 win.
Brierfield Celtic, meanwhile, edged past Streets 2-1 to climb out of the bottom two.
