WE have 10 games left and we are in trouble trying to avoid relegation.

But of our six games against teams in the top 10, five are at home and if we can make Turf Moor a fortress again it gives us a glimmer of hope that we can survive.

The manager has done a tremendous job on a shoestring and believes his team will battle to the very end. They are still learning just how tough the Premier League is.

Brendan Rodgers was very praiseworthy of Sean Dyche and that gives me the confidence to think we can stay up.

We are struggling, I know, but the bottom clubs have to play each other and this can be our lifeline for survival, as long as we pick up points from the home matches.

I get the feeling the lads are up for the challenge and want to stay in the Premier League.

A few have said they will take it game by game, that is the attitude the players have adopted and surely that is exactly what the fans want to hear.

Kieran Trippier summed it up very well when he said they will play with freedom and with smiles on their faces to get the results we need.

I couldn’t agree more with what George Boyd told the Lancashire Telegraph, that the 10 games we remaining will all be cup finals.

With this attitude it gives us a chance to pick up the necessary points and I feel the fans can help by roaring the lads on from start to finish. With their help getting behind the lads we can survive.

Meanwhile, Danny Ings, who I have championed all season, has a rival for a place in the England squad. Harry Kane, the Spurs striker, was again on the scoresheet with two goals against QPR.

Well done Harry, you did the Clarets and yourself a big favour.

Roy Hodgson was at the game and surely Kane will get the nod to join the England squad for the games against Lithuania and Italy.
