Cairney impressed during the draw at Liverpool and thinks Rovers showed enough in their performance at Anfield to think victory is possible at home.
“I think we’ve got a chance,” he said.
“I think you’ve got to obviously say they will be favourites again because of the players they have.
“But we’ve definitely got a chance back at our place and we’ll give it our all to get to the semis and get to Wembley.”
Cairney relished the opportunity to face the likes of Jordan Henderson and Emre Can in midfield on Sunday.
“I’ve enjoyed the cup run,” he said.
“I love playing against Premier League teams. I enjoyed playing against Man City last season, I love trying to test myself against some of the best players in the world.
“It’s an opportunity to see where you’re at.”
But now says minds must turn to tomorrow’s home game against Bolton, with the Liverpool replay still some weeks away.
“We’ve got a game on Wednesday so we’re going to have to recover quickly and just look forward to beating Bolton,” he said.
“That’s all we can do.”
