THE FA Cup weekend gives us a chance to regroup, have a little rest and ready ourselves for arguably the most important 10 games in many a year.

QPR’s defeat to Spurs on Saturday in the only Premier League clash was a bit of a godsend, especially as Chris Ramsay’s side were probably a little unfortunate not to get at least a point after a battling display which will give them some hope.

Our defeat at Liverpool on Wednesday was probably inevitable given the way the Reds are playing at the minute and at times their class really showed.

The run of games we have coming up, starting with the visit of Manchester City on Saturday, could be a real killer but we have to keep believing we will get enough points between now and May 24 to just about squeak it.

We spent most of last season proving the critics wrong on the way to second place in the Championship. We now need to do that all over again this season because with the gap now three points, very few are giving us a hope in hell.

Manchester City and Newcastle away over the Christmas and New Year period both looked impossible to get anything from, especially being 2-0 down at the Etihad and behind three times at St James’ Park but we got two valuable points.

The Chelsea game a couple of weeks ago was a real coupon-buster with most people having it down as an easy win for Jose Mourinho’s side. It was anything but and we could have probably got all three points with the late Danny Ings chance.

Frustratingly it has been the games against sides around us that we’ve let slip so the next month against the ‘bigger’ teams should hold less fear.

We have three homes in the next four and as long as we can keep picking up the unexpected points during this difficult run then we’ll still be in with a chance.

I still genuinely believe we will survive because I think the spirit we have in the camp is a unique ingredient.

that could be the difference when the going gets tough.

If we are within six points going into the final five or six games then we’ll get over the line on the right side.

If we do start next season in the Premier League it’ll arguably be the greatest achievement of any Burnley manager. I’d back Sean Dyche to do it.
