BLACKBURN Harriers starlet Morgan Angland had a brilliant outing at the Northern Athletics Championships in Sheffield.
Her time of 8.99 seconds in the U17s women’s 60m hurdles was not only a personal best but it also broke a club record and earned her a silver medal.
Ben Aspinall contested the U20s men’s triple jump and put in a tremendous performance.

In his first competitive outing of the winter, and after being unable to train properly, Aspinall jumped 13.45m to win bronze.
Huzaifa Hanif could be pleased with his display in the U17s men’s 400m as he finished third in his heat in 55.95secs.
Joe Pearse, meanwhile, took part at the England & Wales Combined Events Championships in Sheffield.
He posted a distance of 5.82m in the U20s men’s long jump and a time of 7.71secs in the 60m.
At the Sale Harriers Open series meeting in Manchester, Charlotte Williams set three season bests.
In the 60m hurdles, finishing third in 10.64secs, in the shot, when finishing third with 8.63m, and in the long jump (21st with 4.09m).
The Massey brothers set three season bests and one personal best between them.
There was a PB for Cameron when finishing second in the 60m hurdles in 10.17secs and he went on to set a season best when finishing fifth in the long jump in 4.82m. There were season bests for Nicholas in the 60m, when finishing third in 7.91secs, and in the 60m hurdles, when finishing first in 9.22secs.
Huzaifa tackled the 600m and came fourth in 1.32.41.
n Chorley Athletic and Triathlon Club member Joe Duckworth has received confirmation from British Triathlon he has been selected to represent Great Britain at the European ETU Long Course Triathlon Champ-ionship in the veterans 45-49 category in September.
Joe, who is aiming to qualify for the Ironman World Championships again as well as the Ironman Lanzarote, said: “To say I’m made-up is an understatement.”
Daniel Lilley, meanwhile, raced to a superb fourth-placed finish in the U11s boys race at the South East Lancashire Cross Country event at Leigh. In the men’s race Jonathan Bur-gess (63rd) led Dave Ker-shaw (72nd), Phil McCull-agh (112th), Adrian Smith (113th) and Mike Coppin.
