BLACKBURN Rovers top-scorer Rudy Gestede has been recalled for today’s Championship clash with Reading at Ewood Park.
The towering targetman started last Saturday’s superb 3-1 victory at Nottingham Forest as a substitute.
But his reward for his game-changing performance from the bench is a spot straight back in Gary Bowyer’s starting line-up.
Gestede, who plundered his sixth goal of the season in the City Ground success, is the sole change made by Rovers boss Bowyer, whose side are attempting to make it three wins on the spin for the first time this season.
Former Premier League rivals Reading make three changes to the team that started their 3-0 home triumph over basement boys Blackpool last Saturday.
Jake Cooper replaces the suspended Michael Hector at centre back, while Jake Taylor and former Rovers striker Nick Blackman, who completed the scoring against Blackpool, come in for Jamie Mackie and Simon Cox.
Rovers: Steele, Baptiste, Hanley, Duffy, Olsson, Cairney, Evans, Williamson, Marshall, Rhodes, Gestede. Subs: Eastwood, Henley, Kilgallon, Dunn, Varney, Tunnicliffe, Conway.
Reading: Federici, Gunter, Pearce, Cooper, Obita, Taylor, Akpan, Norwood, Robson-Kanu, Murray, Blackman. Subs: Andersen, Kelly, Ferdinand, Williams, Mackie, Cox, Pogrebnyak.
