RISHTON United Under 13s picked up a welcome third win of the season after beating struggling Greyhound Juniors 3-0 in their Accrington and District Junior Boys League clash.
United climbed a place in the table, up from seventh to sixth, in an entertaining match at Accrington Academy.
Greyhound, who have one just one of their eight matches, certainly made sure Rishton did not have it all their own way.
However, victory takes Rishton up to 10 points.
Globe Bullough Park are slugging it out with Whalley Juniors are the top of the table and both teams were victorious on Saturday.
Globe narrowly beat Huncoat United Black 2-0 while Whalley were 3-1 winners at Wilpshire Wanderers.
Both Globe and Whalley are tied on 19 points at the top, with identical records – played eight, won six, drawn one and lost one.
Third-place Huncoat United White were the big winners in the division, beating Clitheroe Wolves 4-0 to stay four points behind the leader two – and have a game in hand.
Mill Hill White are also on 15 points after they won 3-1 at Feniscowles and Pleasington.
In the Under 15s, Rossendale United lead the way after Darwen Rangers were beating by fellow title contenders Oswaldtwistle Rangers While Dale were beating Huncoat United 7-3 – to make it seven wins out of seven – Darwen were beating by Ossie as third place overcame second in a 2-1 win.
It means Oswaldtwistle Rangers join Darwen Rangers on 18 points, three behind the leaders who have placed a game less.
Also on 18 points is Rossendale Valley Wasps who were in fine goal scoring form to beat Wilpshire Wanderers 6-1.
Elsewhere, Feniscowles and Pleasington beat Clitheroe Wolves Blue 2-0 to join them on 12 points.
Rishton were big winners on the day, as they raced to a 7-2 victory over Rossendale Valley Tigers.
In the youngest age group allowed to play competitive football, Wilpshire Wanderers won their first game of the season in the Under 11s Black division, beating Huncoat United White 6-3.
Langho Lions also had a good win, as they beat second-placed Streets FC 2-1.
In Under 11s White, there was only one game as St Joseph’s White took on Clitheroe Wolves Red.
And it was second-placed Saints who emerged victorious, winning 6-2 to keep the pressure on leaders Globe Bullough Park who were without a game.
And in the Under 12s division, Padiham Saints beat Huncoat United 9-0 to make it six wins out of six and stay top of the table.
Second-placed Rishton United beat Wilpshire Wanderers Red 8-3.
