A YOUTH rugby team has started the season in style after a leading firm of accountants and business advisers agreed to sponsor their new kit.
Rossendale Rugby Club’s under 15s team were given the new strip by Haslingden-based Cassons, who already sponsor the club’s under 12s squad.
The team, who are based at the Rossendale Sports Club at Marl Pitts in Rawtenstall received new shirts, shorts and socks ahead of their first home match of the season, a friendly against Fleetwood, which saw them score a triumphant 29-0 win.
Paul Kilshaw Under 15s coach and Vice Chair at Rossendale Rugby Club said: “It’s great to see the boys all turned out in their new kit.
“Rugby gear can take a lot of punishment over the course of a season, so we were over the moon when Cassons stepped in and agreed to help us out with new shirts and shorts.
Les Nutter, managing partner at Cassons, said: “Cassons have worked closely with Rossendale Rugby Club for a number of years so we’re thrilled to be able to support the under 15s team as well.”
