BLACKBURN Rovers boss Gary Bowyer has called on the football authorities to change the rule that prevents clubs from appealing against sending offs for two bookings.
Bowyer thinks it ‘beggars belief’ that Rovers are unable to take their case to the FA over Matt Kilgallon’s controversial second yellow card in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town.

It means the centre back, who had just reclaimed his place back in the Rovers side, will be suspended for tonight’s home clash with managerless Birmingham City.
Bowyer said: “We’re disappointed because if it had been a straight red we would have appealed it and we would have won the appeal. We’ve been penalised three times.
“We were penalised with the free kick, then we were penalised with the actual sending off and the goal, and now we can’t appeal the whole episode.
“That’s disappointing and it’s something the authorities, rather than just sitting there, have got to look at.
“How can you challenge a red and not two yellows?
“It beggars belief, especially when a mistake has been made.”
Clubs can appeal against straight red cards.
