JONNY McKenna was too hot to handle as he sped to glory in the Burnley Fire Station 10k.
The Clayton-le-Moors Harriers star took top spot in 35 minutes and 11 seconds.
There were also top-10 finishes for three of McKenna’s clubmates with Andrew Stubbs second overall and the fastest M45 in 36mins 13secs, Jake Watson fourth in 37mins 28secs, and Terry O’Leary fifth in 37mins 49secs.
The rest of the top 10 consisted of unattached trio Edd Mitchell (third in 36mins 29secs), Jonathan Pye (eighth in 38mins 24secs) and Dave Marsh (10th in 38mins 30secs), Barlick Fell Runners’ Andrew Carson (sixth in 38mins 4secs), Trawden AC’s John Robertshaw (ninth in 38mins 27secs), and UK Net Runner’s Hannah Oldroyd (seventh in 38mins 16secs).
Oldroyd was the fastest female on show from Trawden AC’s Christina Singleton (14th in 39mins 3secs) and Autumn Howard (28th in 41mins 25secs).
The other male age group prizes went to the unattached Kevin Slater (fastest M40 and 15th overall in 39mins 34secs), Darwen Dashers’ Brian Morris (fastest M50 and 18th overall in 40mins 5secs), Clayton-le-Moors Harriers’ Stephen Biscomb (fastest M60 and 41st overall in 42mins 34secs), and the unattached Peter Wilkinson (fastest M65 and 95th overall in 49mins 34secs).
The female age group prizes went the way of the unattached Michelle Preston (fastest F40 and 29th overall in 41mins 29secs), Trawden AC’s Michelle Brooks (fastest F35 and 63rd overall in 45mins 23secs), the unattached Helen Garth (fastest F45 and 71st overall in 46mins 42secs), Clayton-le-Moors Harriers’ Irene Roche (fastest F55 and 79th overall in 47mins 26secs), Goyt Valley Striders’ Tracy Vernon (fastest F50 and 111th overall in 50mins 55secs), and Northern Vets’ Jennifer Adams (fastest F60 and 156th overall in 54mins 57secs).
