RIDERS were out in force when the latest round of the PMBA Enduro Series came to East Lancashire.
More than 100 trail riders battled it out for glory at Lee Quarry in Bacup on a course often referred to as a massive oversize playground for mountain bikes.
It is regarded as the ideal place for riders to challenge their existing skills and improve them.
But Matthew Stuttard proved that he had little room for improvement as the MPRO rider won all five sections to be crowned overall winner.
The Rideon, MucOff ace finished with a combined time of 9mins 16secs after he was joint first in the singletrack down hill (2mins 11 secs), and the Cowm Leisure event (1min 24secs) while he was first outright in the Red at Cockhill (1min 52secs), Beast of Cockhill (1min 37secs) and the Rollercoaster (2mins 12secs).
Stutttard finished 22 seconds ahead of second-placed Cal Dew of Pioneer Scott/Syncros who was 16 seconds ahead of his team-mate Lee Kermode.
Jan Czugalinksi was the first none pro rider over the line and was the Masters age group winner, finishing in fourth place overall with a combined time of 9mins 50secs - joint third places in the downhill and Cowm Leisure event the pick of his five disciplines.
Nigel Pilling completed the top five, finishing just two seconds behind fellow Masters age group rider Czugalinksi, his best results coming in the Red at Cockhill and Beast of Cockhill.
Daniel Greenwood was third Masters home after finishing in joint 10th place.
In the GVets section, Howard Stuttard of RideOn, MucOff was first with Ian Tate of Hamsterley Trailblazers second and Neil Tilley third.
At the other end of the age scale, Joe Harrison of Marin Bikes was first U18s rider ahead of Callum Russell and Joe Adsett of Deity components.
In the seniors, Tom Kelly finished 10 seconds ahead of Joe Young of Infinity cycles. Cube store with Ben Clarke of Biketreks third.
Davy Ledgerwood of Teamledg Racing was first Vet with Andrew Mee second and Sam Gibbons third. And in the women’s race, Rebecca Baraona was first and 61st place overall with Emma Knight of NX2 MTB second and Kaylee Swift of Alterrain Racing-Club third.
