HASLINGDEN’S Tom Carne has taken his bike in for repairs after damage hampered his chances at Brands Hatch.
Carne was making a guest appearance in the National Superstock 600 Championship during a blank weekend for the Triumph Triple Challenge, but could only finish 34th in Kent. That followed testing at Cadwell Park when an accident in wet weather led to the bike being damaged.
It must now be repaired in time for the next round of the Triumph Triple Challenge at Thruxton on August 1, 2 and 3.
Carne said: “The bike didn’t feel the same since the crash at Cadwell, so it’s gone for frame alignment to resolve any issues.”
Burnley team FPW Racing had a happier weekend in the British Motostar Championship, though.
Mansfield’s Taz Taylor finished fifth, and second in the 125GP class. He currently sits second in the 125GP standings for the season.
Californian rider Jayson Uribe finished eighth in Sunday’s race and fifth in the Moto3 class, where he currently sits third in the standings for 2014.
Daniel Hermansson, from Sweden, was 16th overall and seventh in the 125GP class, while Morecambe’s Greg Greenwood was 21st overall and 10th in the 125GP class. Josh Owens, of fellow Burnley team RCD Motorsport, did not finish the race.
Colne team Appleyard/ Macadam Racing were in action in the British Supersport Championship, with Jake Dixon finished fourth in both races.
South African rider Bjorn Estment took 11th place in both races.
