KEITH Roscoe put Nottinghamshire in a real spin as he bowled Lancashire Over 50s towards success in the 50-plus County Championship match they had to win at Littleborough.
The 52-year-old Rawtenstall legend, the all-time leading wicket-taker in the history of the Foster’s Lancashire League, claimed 4-10 from his nine overs – and also held one catch – as the Red Rose veterans kept their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages.
Batting first Nottinghamshire were going well until the introduction of Roscoe as they slipped from 53-1 to 122 all out.
In reply Lancashire suffered a clatter of early wickets, including the loss of Haslingden’s Mike Ingham, but John Punchard made an unbeaten 38 and John Partington was 24 not out as Lancashire eased to their victory.
They now face Cheshire tomorrow at Formby CC in another must-win match as they look to make the knockout stages.
