READ bounced back to form with a bang as they left Brooksbottom shellshocked with a brilliant bowling display as the Houldsworth Solicitors Ribblesdale League clash at Whalley Road ended at 3.23pm.
Brandon Scullard returned from injury to claim 5-17 as Brooksbottom were skittled for just 46.
Elliott Lowes also got in on the act with four wickets as only two Brox men made double figures.
And in reply Read were in no mood to dawdle as they strolled home in just 7.2 overs with the whole game lasting just 21.1 overs.
The win was welcome for Read, whose anticipated title challenge has petered out in recent weeks, while at the summit Clitheroe marched on with a fine win over Oswaldtwistle Immanuel.
Paul Gaskell’s men bowled Immanuel out for just 101 and they got over the line despite a few nervy moments.
Jack Edgar made 90 and Stuart Maher claimed another seven wickets to move onto 45 for the season as Great Harwood beat Ribblesdale Wanderers, while Whalley were too good for Cherry Tree at Station Road.
James Galling’s 55, 45 from Mark Fallon and 36 not out from skipper Richard Lamb helped Whalley post a more than testing 221-4 from their 45 overs and when the rain brought an early halt Cherry were behind on run rate and on 92-4.
Earby beat Brinscall as Richard Craddock claimed six wickets and then hit an unbeaten 43 to steer his side over the line and Settle were big winners over Barnoldswick at Victory Park, while Baxenden beat Edenfield.
But the performance of the day came from Euxton’s overseas ace Preston White as they rocked Salesbury. The Aussie claimed 8-37 from 18.2 overs as Salesbury were bowled out for 122 and then he made 57 at more than a run a ball to lead his men home.
In yesterday’s game Ribblesdale Wanderer beat Cherry Tree. Ian Britcliffe claimed 7-35 as Cherry were restricted to 141-9 before Ben Dougall’s 64 eased Ribb over the line.
Clitheroe booked a place in the last four of the LCB Lancashire Cup after a 45-run win over Denton West.
