RECORD breaking Rawtenstall captain and wicketkeeper Vinny Hanson has announced that he will hang up his gloves at the end of the current Foster's Lancashire League season.
The 32-year-old, whose side are riding high in the league and face Lowerhouse in the semi-finals of the Foster's Worsley Cup next month, has decided to make his announcement now so Rawtenstall can plan for the future.
Hanson has claimed 568 victims in league and cup since making his Rawtenstall debut in 1996 and has been in form with the bat this season, making a career best 125 against Rishton in the first round of the Worsley Cup.
