RAWTENSTALL will play Lowerhouse and holders Burnley will face Nelson in the last four of this year’s Foster’s Worsley Cup meaning the tantalising prospect of an all-Burnley final remains on the cards.

Charlie Cottam’s Lowerhouse and Bharat Tripathi’s Burnley were desperate to avoid each other in Tuesday night’s draw, which was made at Church CC, and the fierce derby rivals got their wish, although they are both involved in mouthwatering last-four clashes.

Burnley, who beat Haslingden to lift the trophy last year, entertain Neil Thompson’s Nelson at Myprotein Turf Moor, while the House, who are the current Lancashire League leaders, must travel to the Rossendale Valley for their showdown with Rawtenstall.

That is a big game for Lowerhouse all-rounder Joey Hawke who lives in Rawtenstall, while Rocky skipper Vinny Hanson is also relishing the tie.

“It’s a tough tie but you can’t be too disappointed to be drawn at home,” said Hanson. “”And to be fair it should be a cracking game.”

Both games will take place on Sunday, July 13, with the final on Sunday, August 10, taking place at either Rawtenstall’s Worswick Memorial Ground or Lowerhouse’s Neville Gee Recruitment Ground.

The draw was also made for the last four of the Lancashire Telegraph Trophy and that sees East Lancashire hosting Rishton and Haslingden entertaining local rivals Ramsbottom.

Those ties take place on July 13 with the final on Saturday, August 2 at with East Lancashire’s Alexandra Meadows or Rishton’s Blackburn Road.
