RAWTENSTALL’S Nick Payne is aiming to return to Foster’s Lancashire League action by early August after suffering a broken arm while batting in the nets.
The 33-year-old former Oswaldtwistle and Read left-hander had been in decent form for Vinny Hanson’s men but was sidelined when he was hit by a delivery from team-mate Cameron Holder a fortnight ago.
Payne hopes to have his pot removed next week and is aiming to be back in the Rawtenstall side for the derby with Ramsbottom on August 3.
