Clitheroe suffered a first defeat of the season as Padiham ended the Chatburn Road side's ambition of a Houldsworth Ribblesdale and Ramsbottom Cup double.
Ryan Clegg struck the winning runs to give third bottom Padiham a surprise two wicket win and a place in the semi-finals alongside holders, Ribblesdale Wanderers and Cherry Tree. Brooksbottom and Barnoldswick resume their quarter-final tonight with the tie still in the balance.
The senior division leaders set their Arbories hosts a target of 219 after being dismissed for 218 in 48.4 overs. South African Darryl Losper led the run chase with 54 before Clegg hit a final two for victory.
Ribblesdale were also involved in a tight game at Brinscall but also got home with two wickets in hand. Liam Winstanley was the mainstay of Brinscall's 182 in 49.2 overs with 52.
Ben Dougall quickly set about the home attack making 26 while Charlie Jackson dropped anchor in stablising Wanderers' innings before the holders edged through with 4.2 overs to spare.
Losper's compatriot, Ruan Sadler, produced the bowling display of the quarter-finals to send Tree into the last four. Mark Hadfield top scored with 59 as the visitors totalled 232-7 in batting out their overs.
Edenfield were still in contention at 182-6 before Sadler claimed four wickets in five balls including the wicket of David Johnson for his hat-trick to dismiss the home side for 183.
