EAST Lancashire captain Mark Bolton is hoping to be fit for this weekend after being forced out of the of team through injury.
The 42-year-old all-rounder missed Saturday’s win over Rishton and Sunday’s loss to Todmorden after tweaking a hamstring with Paul Kelly taking over as skipper.
But he is keen to return to lead his troops when they entertain Lowerhouse on Saturday before Sunday’s trip to Bentgate to face Haslingden.
“You can never guarantee these things but I would hope to be fit,” said Bolton.
Meanwhile, Bolton’s ranks could be boosted after record breaking batsman Paul Turner returned to Alexandra Meadows.
Turner, who broke the Blackburn club’s amateur batting record in 2003, has been without a club since leaving Clitheroe towards the end of last season.
He made his comeback for East Lancs seconds as they beat Todmorden on Sunday – but made only one.
