CLITHEROE’S Alex Hartley spun her side to glory in the second round of the ECB’s Super 3 at Loughborough.
The tournament is designed to showcase the best 36 women cricketers in the country as they split into three teams and face off in a round-robin contest.
Playing in the Rubies, Hartley claimed the prized scalps of England stars Lydia Greenway and Jenny Gunn on her way to a return of 4-21 from 10 overs as the Sapphires, including Lancashire’s England pace ace Kate Cross, were bowled out for 156.
Hartley’s skipper and England captain Charlotte Edwards failed as Team B replied but they coasted home by four wickets with Hartley not required to bat.
