CHORLEY have submitted a formal appeal after their Bank Holiday Monday game at Lancaster was declared void due to an unfit pitch.
Andy Holdsworth’s men has arrived at Lune Road when the umpires called the game off.
They were initially awarded four points – as were the hosts – but the Windsor Park outfit have now sent a formal appeal to the Chorley Building Society Northern League Executive against the decision.
The second XI fixture between the two sides, which was scheduled for Windsor Park on the same day, was also called off when Lancaster advised that they were unable to raise a team.
Chorley were awarded 15 points in that instance.
The Northern League will discuss the appeal at their next executive meeting at St Annes on May 27.
They can concentrate on playing matters tomorrow when they head up the M6 to face an inconsisent Morecambe side at Woodhill Lane.
League leaders Darwen, who boast a 100 per cent record, have an open date tomorrow.
