THE weekend cricket programme was hit hard by the bad weather with the entire Lancashire League programme washed out completely, while seven of the eight Ramsbottom Cup ties were settled by bowl outs.
The only game to take place was the first round tie between Cherry Tree and Settle – but only 24 hours later than planned after the rain refused to relent on Saturday.
But there was joy yesterday for Mark Hadfield’s men.
The skipper led his side into the second round as they beat the Dalesmen by seven wickets at Preston Old Road.
Cup holders Ribblesdale Wanderers also progressed after a bowl out.
Yesterday’s washed out Lancashire League programme will now take place on Saturday, May 31.
